1 position, pool status working various shifts and hours not to exceed more than 20 per week.
Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to residents by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Attendance as assigned by Nursing Unit Coordinator or Director of Nursing.
Protects and promotes residents rights.
Assures physician orders are followed accurately and proper documentation maintained.
Provides nursing care to residents. Collects admission data under direction of RN supervisor.
Implements care plan. Observes changes in resident's status as directed by individualized care plan. Documents care given and response to plan of care on appropriate forms.
Performs technical nursing tasks and administers medication according to departmental standards.
Assesses the response of the resident to nursing interventions. Relays emergent changes in resident’s status to RN supervisor, Director of Nursing or physician immediately and communicates other changes as necessary.
Initiates and follows departmental protocol in emergency situations.
Prepares a file for each resident and records vital signs, weight, height and medical history.
Counts and records daily the number and type of controlled drugs in stock.
Ensures adherence and complies with infection control standards.
Communicates with resident families, physicians, other staff members, pharmacies, other facilities and support organizations in person and by telephone as resident’s condition warrants.
Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
Attends monthly nurse staff meetings. Presents in-services as assigned. Attends mandatory organizational meetings.
Provides orientation for newly assigned nursing staff.
