Description

Seattle's Union Gospel Mission is currently looking for a LINK Program Case Manager to join the KentHOPE team in Kent, WA.

 

Seattle's Union Gospel Mission is a private faith-based organization that helps the community to reach out with compassion to those who have lost hope. And as a community, we empower one another to build, lead and give back.

 

The  LINK Program Case Manager is responsible for supporting the KentHOPE program efforts to end homelessness by recruiting, developing, resourcing, educating, and equipping guests in the LINK program to find employment, housing and sustainable support systems.

Essential Job Duties

  1. Be an informed expert in the field of homelessness in King County, particularly as related to relational dysfunction, life transformation, and trauma.
  2. Build relationships and partnerships with local churches, schools, businesses, service agencies/providers and housing partners to ensure the best resources are available to the guests.
  3. Provide and facilitate a guest environment that relationally shares with guests the full range of resources available to assist them in overcoming the conditions that cause homelessness to include resources for physical, mental and spiritual health.
  4. Conduct assessment, intake and provide ongoing case management to guests interested in, and enrolled in the Link program
  5. Manage and be available to volunteers as they assist guests in employment and career functions, housing, financial or their spiritual walk while in program.
  6. Communicate with other KentHOPE programs and staff, and other mission programs and staff to ensure understanding of program, guest status and ability to utilize other services in the mission.
  7. Manage the housing units to ensure clean and safe environment for all guests to include chores, meal management, bed checks, and UAs.
  8. Ensure a safe and dignified Guest Relations environment.
  9. Maintain accurate and timely records of guest interviews and meeting using the Clarity tracking system, bed list functions and statistical data required.
  10. Provide and/or facilitate case management to help move the guest toward agreed upon goals.
  11. Administer observed urine collections for guests.
  12. Perform welfare checks in guest residences and restrooms.

  13. Maintain a positive, pleasant, professional Christian attitude. Work with other staff to forge and model transparent and supportive Christian relationships which will serve as a leadership example. Share the gospel and disciple those guests who have accepted Christ.
  14. Seattle's Union Gospel Mission accepts and encourages the involvement of volunteers at all levels in the organization. All employees are expected to interact positively and cooperatively with our volunteers.
  15. Attend all mandatory Mission and department meetings and trainings.
  16. Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. The successful candidate will have an active church/prayer life and demonstrate a strong desire to serve the Mission by ministering to those whom it serves.
  2. Must agree with Seattle's Union Gospel Mission Statement of Faith, Mission and Vision Statements and have a personal ethos and work ethic that reflects the Missions Core Values.
  3. Sensitivity to cultural diversity is required.
  4. Seattle's Union Gospel Mission accepts and encourages the involvement of volunteers at all levels in the organization.   5. Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug and criminal background screenings.
  6. Possess a valid Washington State Drivers License and be able to meet the standards of the Mission driver criteria required, including but not limited to:
    1. Clean driving record
    2. No current suspensions or revocations
    3. At least 21 years of age
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel required.
  8. Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
  9. Ability to manage others required.
  10. Ability to maintain a positive and friendly personality towards guest, visitors, volunteers and staff required.

 

 

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; bend, stoop or reach.
  2. Regularly lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds.
  3. Talk on telephone and use computer extensively.
  4. Ability to wear a mask for the duration of the shift.

 

 

Education

Associates Degree with a focus in Social Service, Pastoral Ministry (Theology) or Behavioral Science preferred.

Experience

One year of case management experience preferred.
