Carriage Hill Retirement is looking for a Sales and Marketing Leasing representative to assist with apartment rentals and sales for our Assisted Living and Memory Care Community located in Bedford Virginia.

This individual would be responsible for making senior living apartment sales. The sales representative position is responsible for conducting outreach, building relationships in the community, bringing in business and then ultimately selling units.

The individual would work as a part of a team, and in conjunction with a Marketing Director, and is responsible for following the sales process from start to finish.

The sales process often includes communication with external parties (hospitals, social workers, case managers, rehabs, etc), coordination with internal employees to conduct healthcare assessments, coordination of paperwork for admissions (with discharge planners, doctors, etc), communication with residents and families, and the ability to sell the unit, and collect a check from prospective residents to secure their stay in our community.

This position is salary based with commission opportunity tied to successful sales made.

Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must have a care and compassion for the elderly population. Candidates must have the ability to multi-task, and have a reliable vehicle (to perform community outreach and external marketing).

Education and Experience:

            In the interest of residents/patients, the Sales and Marketing Representative will have the preferred minimum training in sales and/or public relations and a minimum of two years of experience in a position(s) requiring dealing with the public.  The Sales and Marketing Representative will possess a high school diploma or equivalent. 

                It is preferred the Sales and Marketing Representative will have two years of experience working in a marketing role or other position closely related to the essential functions of this position.

Skills and Abilities:

            In addition to the essential job functions described above, the following job functions are important to the proper fulfillment of the duties of the Sales and Marketing Representative.

  • Must be aware of and understand the needs of the elderly. 
  • Must be able to recognize unusual behavior or physical condition of residents. 
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with all facility policies and procedures. 
  • Must be familiar with current licensure rules and regulations governing the facility.
  • Ability to timely compile facts/figures, identify and investigate issues and resolve basic matters.
  • Ability to follow an appropriate course of action based on policies and procedures.
  • Attention to details with good organizational and efficient time management skills.
  • Consistent professional attitude and behavior with effective listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient.
