Description

Erie Family Health Centers is looking for a responsible, analytical individual like you to join our Community Engagement Team. The Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator (COC) is responsible for working with Erie’s Associate Director of Community Engagement to develop and implement a community outreach plan to maintain and deepen Erie’s community ties in Lake County, especially Waukegan, North Chicago and Zion, in alignment with organizational priorities and the local Community Engagement Plan. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Establish and build relationships with peer service providers’ frontline staff
  • Provide information and referrals for existing patients to community resources
  • Represent Erie in community coalitions and events, recruiting new patients and clients, and representing and marketing Erie’s brand in Lake County
  • Go-to person in the community for information and connections to HealthReach’s services and programs
  • Identify key community stakeholders and collaborate with Erie colleagues to ensure these relationships are consistently and appropriately staffed
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent required. Associates Degree or equivalent preferred. A combination of education and relevant experience and skills can substitute for formal education
  • 1+ years’ experience managing community engagement activities or other relevant professional experience in community relations, communications and project management
  • Prior experience in health care, human services, and/or nonprofit organizations preferred
  • Knowledge of the communities Erie serves—geographically and culturally

 

This role will be based out of our Erie HealthReach Waukegan: 2323 Grand Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085. This is a Part Time Role great for someone looking to work 20 hours per week. The person holding this position may be required to work irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary to complete assigned duties and responsibilities. HR will be reaching out to qualifying candidates by April.
