Summary of Position

The Student Pastor and Operations Director, North Durham Campus oversees and leads the Student Ministry (5-12th grade). The Student Pastor will also work with the student ministry team to reach the next generation and partner with families to raise up a generation that loves Christ and his mission. This position will also recruit, train, and lead setup & tear down teams.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Passionate about connecting students to the global mission of God

  • Preferred 3-5 years of experience in leading a student ministry

  • Ability to equip and connect families to the local church

  • Shows a desire for discipleship and a calling to ministry

  • Has a teachable spirit and willingness to be a team player

  • Lives or is willing to relocate within the region of the North Durham Campus

  • A member of The Summit Church or willing and able to become a member

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Connecting

    • Connecting students to small groups (5th-8th grade and 9th-12th grade)

      • Assimilating students and making them stick 

    • Connecting students to Elevate worship gatherings: both campus and church wide events 

      • In addition will connect with First Time Guests at Elevate events

    • Recruiting new leaders to in Student Ministry and in Set-up/Tear-down

    • Getting to know families in our church 

  • Coaching/Leadership Development

    • Coaching Small Group leaders 

      • Assessing the health of the small group leaders

      • Attending to the needs of small groups

      • Training new volunteers and leaders

    • Campus Ministry

    • Identify a primary and secondary local school campus to invest time, energy, and resources and equips volunteers to be on mission at these campuses.

  • Oversee and Execute Weekend Programming

    • Middle School Small Groups

    • High School Small Groups

    • Elevate

  • Recruit, Train, Lead, and Serve alongside of our Set-Up and Tear-Down Teams
