The Role

Princeton University Press seeks a motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized Publicity Associate to join the European Publicity team in Woodstock, UK.  The person appointed will report to the Head of Publicity (Europe) and will work closely with the European marketing team as well as with colleagues in the Princeton, New Jersey office.

 

Key tasks will include

  • Providing administrative and research support to the publicity and marketing teams.
  • Liaising with the marketing assistant on the publicity campaigns for our academic books.
  • Coordinating with our warehouse to ensure review copies are distributed.
  • Supporting authors with flyers and books at events in the UK and Europe.
  • Responding to requests from journals and the media.
  • Researching specialist publicity outlets.
  • Monitoring and recording review coverage of PUP books.
  • Helping to update and maintain the publicity database.
  • Liaising closely, and attending meetings, with colleagues in Princeton’s US office.

Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills and a flexible attitude.
  • Proactive, with good problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize.
  • Good communication skills – via email, in person, and via the telephone.
  • Comfortable communicating with many different people in different job functions and at different levels including working with PUP colleagues in international offices.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Fully IT literate and able to pick up new processes quickly.
  • Proficient users of Office 365, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Cision beneficial.
  • Experience with database work preferred.
  • Some travel to conferences or to cover publicity events will be required.
