The IT Support Specialist will test, install, configure, troubleshoot, and provide long-term support for all computer hardware and software. As part of this process, will create proper documentation and other detailed instructions to help Family Health La Clinica (FHLC) employees make the best use of technologies.  This position works closely with vendors and end-users to assure FHLC’s computer systems are operational and working efficiently. This position works in conjunction with FHLC’s contracted IT firm to provide information on current PC or other application issues.


  • Provides day-to-day technical support for network infrastructure and desktop systems software and hardware.
  • Assist IT Help Desk Technician in timely response to IT issues encountered throughout the organization.
  • Maintain IT related documentation (hardware lists, software licensure, etc)
  • Provide advanced level support on technical issues involving Microsoft’s full suite of business applications and operating systems.
  • Provide resolution to escalated hardware and software support: provide maintenance and updates for desktops, multi-function devices, and mobile devices.
  • Provide advanced hardware and software support for servers, firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Provide staff training and ongoing support related to IT hardware, software updates, within scope of training and knowledge base.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to identify opportunities for efficiencies in bringing in new technologies to improve clinic success and health outcomes for patients.
  • Maintains security of systems, networks, security and enterprise information.
  • Identify, assess, and troubleshoot application and equipment issues as they occur, owning the problem and seeing it through to full resolution. Communicate resolution to the user when complete.
  • Uphold the IT guidelines for employees related to the IT composition at FHLC
  • Maintain software licenses and upgrade schedules
  • Knowledge of TechSoup and what is available through this program
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and work with leadership to
  • Providing technical support across the company in person or over the phone (travel is required)
  • Assist with cyber security assessments.
  • Assist with cyber security training.



Minimum, an associate’s degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent experience; a minimum of two years previous experience in HP, Windows network administration, troubleshooting and software maintenance with advanced PC application software skills; an understanding of the business process; excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills; and a hands-on, interactive approach to delivering information systems support. Experience in the health care industry a plus.




  • Proficient in computer software to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and/or equivalent.
  • Advanced understanding of managing networks.
  • Experience is Microsoft server technologies including Active Directory, File/Folder Permissions, Print Management, Remote Desktop, etc.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks by multiple people in an urgent or emergent situation.
  • Ability to analyze information and make decisions.
  • Possession of strong communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to identify and maintain confidential/HIPAA information required.
