POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Laboratory Technologist is a contract per diem position that assists ECRI's Applied Solutions Group with remote project work, including researching into the instrumentation, reagents, and test assays required to perform clinical laboratory services, including but not limited to chemistry, hematology, immunoassay, microbiology, molecular, and radioimmunoassay.

  • The individual will be able to independently research the information needed to perform an objective and qualitative analysis of the task required.
  • Provide detailed, intensive research to formulate accurate assessments of the situation and offers solutions to address the issues.
  • Provides well-written, technically accurate, and logically defensible deliverables to clients regarding, technology assessments, limited to laboratory instrumentation and testing
  • Ensures project completion in a timely manner within client's expectations.
  • Proactively maintains regular contact with the project manager, including updates and expected delays.

ACCOUNTABILITY METRICS

  • Meet established project timelines, deliverables, and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 8 years experience as a certified Medical Technologist working in a full service clinical laboratory
  • ASCP, NCA, or equivalent required
  • The individual will have broad and extensive knowledge of all currently performed laboratory testing with the exception of pathology.
  • The individual will have broad knowledge of the current laboratory instrumentation used in a modern laboratory, including point of care testing.
  • The individual will have a general knowledge of laboratory operations, including optimal workflows.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Laboratory Information Software.
  • Working knowledge of proficiency testing
  • Competency is the general operation of common laboratory instrumentation performing analysis and proficiency testing.
  • Working knowledge of CAP and CLIA regulations

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) required.
  • Masters degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (MLS) preferred.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 2007+
