The Corporate Communications Coordinator will develop and execute public relations and community relations activities to promote the visibility and positive image of RailPros, its work and mission in the community as well as marketing activities.  Communicates internal announcements and initiatives to help the entire RailPros team stay in the know.


  • Draft, edit and receive approvals for the following types of memos/announcements: New hires, promotions, news releases and internal or external events, internal marketing and informational documents.
  • Work with internal teams including marketing, social media, content, operations, sales, human resources, etc. to plan and execute communications plans
  • View and update social media sites, i.e. – Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest. Address any recent comments, engage with “Fans,” frequent uploading of new post/picture/video in the morning. Check these pages throughout the day for updates and upload more as needed.
  • Continuous use of company email via computer and cell phone. Create and manage e-newsletters, e-blasts, and text blasts.
  • Knowledge of the brand’s image. Be aware of this at all times.
  • Create and manage Communications budget
  • Community Relations – develop and maintain community partnerships. Be involved with our community. Attend community meetings. Network with community leaders. Sponsor local events. Show that RailPros is a strong community leader in all aspects.  Be knowledgeable of City policies regarding events. Obtain event permits when needed.
  • Manage yearly calendar. Schedule and organize yearly events and manage from beginning to end. Create PR documents for events, i.e. – press releases, memos, art pieces, etc.
  • Manage approved charitable endeavors accordingly, i.e. – donations, fundraisers, etc. Evaluate donation requests that come through the corporate office and respond appropriately
  • Order and manage promotional items and giveaway items.
  • Management of company website. Work with website provider regularly for any additions, changes needed to website.  Includes: staff pages, home page, slideshow, overall aesthetic of website.
  • Manage web analytics regularly. Check on internet advertising progress regularly.
  • Write compelling and concise copy about, business updates, and corporate news that enable employees for change, mobilize them to action, and excite them about our vision.
  • Develop leadership messaging that is meaningful and tailored to the audience.
  • Partner with project teams, business leaders, and departments across the company to execute effective communications campaigns.
  • Ensure that RailPros internal voice is consistent and “on brand” across all channels.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and creative communications solutions to drive results within our change programs.
  • Create and share content across a range of internal channels (e.g. intranet, email, video, PPT, leader briefs, etc.)
  • Maintain company-wide internal communications calendar.



  • This is largely a sedentary role, however some filing and minor lifting may be required.  
  • Frequent periods of sitting, standing, walking; and occasional bending, stooping or lifting up to 25lbs.
  • Visual ability sufficient to see and recognize text or graphics on a computer screen.  Hand and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, copier or similar office device.  Ability to converse on a telephonic device.



  • This job operates in a professional office environment, with controlled climate and LED lighting.
  • Travel 35% of the time.



  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and related office equipment.

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Communications or equivalent.
