Life Science Outsourcing, Inc (“LSO”) is a contract manufacturer of medical devices with in-built capabilities to offer clients full-service solutions through our six divisions. Clients rely on LSO to perform all activities required to introduce their products to market, from sourcing to drop shipping. In January 2021, LSO partnered with PPC Enterprises (www.ppcenterprises.com), a leading private equity firm based out of New York, to expand LSO’s geographic reach in the medical device arena.

To help us achieve our near-term growth targets, we are currently seeking an energetic and motivated Director of Sales and Marketing to join our fast-growing organization. In this role, you will engage in structuring the sales department with key decision makers both internally and externally, while reporting to the CEO. The Director of Sales and Marketing will also be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and developing long-term business partnerships with new and existing customers. BASIS FUNCTION

Responsibilities include leadership, direction and oversight related to the future medical device customers with respect to new product development, new application and technology areas and translation into new business opportunities for the business segment. The position also monitors products and general applications of competitors and observes market dynamics (of competitors, customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies etc).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  

Sales Functions

  • Support the development and execution of a comprehensive strategic plan to establish a robust pipeline of revenue.
  • Develop and implement a sales (and marketing) plan to meet business goals through expansion of the customer base.
  • Assist in creating an online presence in the medical device arena.
  • Work with the sales and support teams to achieve customer satisfaction, generate revenue growth, and attain long-term overall account goals in line with LSO’s vision and values.
  • Make recommendations to prospective and existing clients to sell and cross-sell LSO’s services.
  • Generates follow-up on and execute sales proposals in compliance with company standards.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategy to track referrals, face-to-face meetings, calls, direct mail / email campaigns, networking, and follow-up activity to increase qualified leads and conversion rates.
  • Maintain cohesive working team relationship with all support departments.
  • Collaborate daily with the other LSO Divisions to ensure an effective management of resources: client base, technical resources, and reputation in the marketplace to aggressively grow the business.

Marketing Functions

  • Monitor and capture new growth opportunities, biomaterials, technologies and solutions for value generation beyond the organic pipeline of current & new products, including in new markets or new applications.
  • Support the positioning of the Medical Device Solution Segment as a leading development partner for medical device companies on a national and global basis.
  • Support launches of new Medical Device service and products with respect to market positioning, value proposition, business plans and business models.
  • Identify and participate in relevant conferences, technical seminars, trade shows, etc. to make new contacts and identify new development opportunities.
  • Maintain relations to medical thought-leaders, key opinion leaders and product champions to identify clinical needs and technical gaps
  • Create position papers and presentations on future trends
  • Support identification and evaluation of potential acquisition targets.

 

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sciences or related discipline – Preferred
    • Experience in sales functions within the medical device service industry (e.g., contract manufacturing, injection molding, lab testing, any services-oriented business) – required
    • Experience or knowledge in marketing – Required
  • Proven ability to incorporate CRM tools (HubSpot and Salesforce) into sales/marketing programs
  • Proven ability to incorporate technical information and content expertise into the sales process
  • Proven ability to lead inside sales efforts and manage a cross functional sales approach to allow for greater penetration of target customers
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with executive team and other sales members and assist in fostering a positive corporate culture
  • General understanding of regulatory requirements of medical device industry as it pertains to sales/marketing
  • Experience / familiarity with digital marketing campaigns is a necessary
  • Good network in the medical device industry and in academia
  • Presentation skills, able to convince management and stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of GMP/Medical device regulations (ISO 13485) preferred.
