Position Overview
The Applications Manager/ CRM-DBA is a member of the Administration unit, which serves as the primary application manager and database administrator for EJW’s SQL server databases. This would include from initial database architecture design through implementation, administration, monitoring, tuning, backup, migration, and support. The Applications Manager/CRM-Database Administrator will be responsible for the integration of new database systems and services. This position will also be responsible for designing, administering, and maintaining complex database projects as well as ensuring highly efficient operations of SQL Server and other database applications/ services.
Responsibilities
This person will support the management and administration of SQL server databases such as CRM and other business applications. This individual will collaborate with staff, senior leadership, consultants, and service providers to manage the successful implementation and management of all database services, systems and applications.
The Applications Manager/CRM-Database Administrator must have demonstrated experience managing SQL Server 2008 & 2005 database systems. This person will work with the IT Director to develop, maintain, and administer database end user training and support, as well as oversee governance of policies & procedures.
The Applications Manager/CRM-Database Administrator will have demonstrated experience in project delivery, and previous experience with database implementation and administration. This position requires strong technical and organizational skills with an emphasis on leading the translation of business requirements into solutions. Excellent writing and communication skills are necessary, as well as the ability to problem solve in a quick-paced environment and work collaboratively with others.
The responsibilities of the Application Specialist/Database Administrator also include:
- Responsible for EJW staff utilization of CRM database, including identifying ways to use CRM to support core business functions and writing standard operating procedures that outline EJW’s specific use
- Handle system configurations and customizations, including workflows, modern flows, form & field customization, and system views & dashboards
- Maintain and modify CRM DB import/export procedures with external data sources
- Become the lead internal expert on CRM
- Maintain, modify, and evaluate disaster recover procedures for CRM
- Responsible for the data integrity of the production and the test databases
- Support end user CRM clients
- Responsible for the support of the CRM web modules
- Research new modules and add-on programs and make recommendations when appropriate
- Liaison with vendor, if required, on design enhancements or database modifications to meet new business needs
- Perform system functionality testing and quality assurance
- Perform database administration and maintenance on core business applications used by EJW, including but not limited to developing, running, and monitoring nightly stored procedures, scripts and/or triggers, etc.
- Plan, schedule and implement system upgrades and/or enhancements on core business (database) applications
- Manages the integration of the database with other related internal databases, creates and maintains documentation
- Perform timely analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex database issues
- Provide technical consulting in identifying, implementing, and supporting new database functionality
- Create and modify reports and reporting tools for staff to query against Equal Justice Works database using both CRM and PowerBI
- Work with staff to identify (key) data collection needs and maximize utilization of data
- Creates, oversees, and catalogues internal reports to ensure accuracy, ease of use, and to minimize duplication of effort
- Recommend improvements to services and systems policies and procedures
- Proactively follow and actively promote all department policies and procedures and conduct yourself within the framework of EJW’s Core Values
- Assist Equal Justice Works staff on implementing procedures for ensuring data integrity within core business applications
- Ensure that all system documentation is completed and maintained on core business (database) applications
- Provide user support on help desk requests related to business applications
- Monitor the use of system codes, assign new codes as needed
- Manage open issues list on system functionality bugs and work with vendor to resolve
- Establish Equal Justice Works data entry standards, train staff on procedures and monitor compliance
