Description

Runyon Saltzman, Inc. a leading Sacramento-based full-service, integrated communications firm is looking for an account manager / sr. account manager to join our team.

We are looking for a highly-motived Account Manager or Senior Account Manager who is passionate about creating and executing meaningful integrated marketing programs for our California-based clients. We seek a candidate with diverse experience in public relations/public affairs, media relations, community relations, social media, and a proven ability to successfully manage communications projects.

 

If you have 2-5 years of public relations/affairs experience; excellent writing and editing skills in English and Spanish (is a plus) along with these additional key skills:

 

  • Public relations / Media relations / Message development
  • Proactive leadership / Strategic Thinking
  • Public relations / Public affairs 
  • Provide senior level counsel to clients
  • Keen understanding of emerging media trends

 

 

  •     Excellent writing and editing skills.
  •     A talent for delivering clean, well thought-out presentations.
  •     Knowledge of campaign strategies utilizing various media, outreach and public relations tactics.
  •     An ability to stay ahead of the curve.
  •     Creative and strategic thinking ability.

A bachelor’s degree and two-to- three years of relevant experience are required. Prior employment in an agency is desired.

 

Qualifications

Overview of Position

  •  With direction, manages day-to-day client relations and provides training and mentoring to junior positions

Required Skills, Experience and Education

  •  Provides training and mentoring of job duties to junior positions
  •  Trains junior staff on preparation of creative and media briefs
  •  Prepares and manages client work, including work plan implementations, schedules and creative and media briefs, client budget and billing
  •  Conducts research to provide business overview/competitive monitoring and industry positioning
  •  Assists in delivering presentations to clients
  •  Plans and monitors projects from start to finish (estimates, budgets, timelines)
  •  Prepares or oversees account service-related documents such as meeting agendas, meeting reports, status reports, proposals and other clime     communications and correspondence
  •  Participates in planning, creating, communication and evaluating client campaigns
  •  Supports new business efforts, including proposal writing and research/identification of new business prospects
  •  Participates in community events and volunteers with community organizations
  •  Performs administrative tasks as necessary and performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education

  • Two-to-three years of relevant experience
  •  Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university or equivalent experience

  •  Equal time spent sitting/standing, frequently required to walk
  •  Heavy phone and computer use
  •  May travel to client accounts
