Carrollton Family Ministry: Part-time, Nonexempt, 20 Hours per Week

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Early Childhood Coordinator supports the Kids Ministry team by assisting to recruit, train, schedule, equip and empower small group leaders to serve effectively in the Early Childhood ministry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and able to learn new apps and programs as needed

  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with a diverse group of people in a variety of situations

  • Have a strong knowledge of grammar, correct word usage, spelling and punctuation

  • Experience in coordinating, scheduling and equipping people and tasks

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Lead, shepherd, equip and encourage spiritual and personal growth with our Early Childhood servant coaches and small group leaders

  • Manage Early Childhood Ministry on Sunday mornings

  • Partner with Kids Ministry Operations Coordinators and Programming Director to ensure that leaders are equipped to serve in their rooms each week

  • Interview leaders and assign them to ministry areas to ensure proper staffing each week

  • Manage the small group leaders onboarding process

  • Oversee weekly communication with Early Childhood Coaches and Small Group Leaders

  • Review curriculum for appropriate child development and leader’s ability to implement

  • Develop and maintain a sub list of leaders called MVPs

  • Support all Family Ministry Events

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • College degree preferred

  • Experience working with kids in a teaching or care giving environment

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Embrace Bent Tree Distinctives: Indwelling Christ, Grace lived out, Biblical teaching, Shared leadership, World Missions

  • Bent Tree member or willing to become one as a condition of employment

  • Active, growing relationship with Jesus Christ

  • Able to work Sunday mornings and holidays such as Christmas Eve and Easter weekend

  • Report to: Family Pastor - Kids

  • Work with: Kids Ministry Team, Family Ministry Team, Pastors, Servants, Parents and Kids
