Position Summary

The Retail Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Pink Adventure Store and supervising up to 6 Retail Associates. This includes interviewing, hiring, and training; personnel management and scheduling; inventory control, receiving, and product merchandising; web store management; sales, expense management, and budgeting; in addition to other duties.

The manager will lead the team members to ensure the highest level of customer service while achieving our sales goals. The Retail Manager will work closely with the corporate buyer on receiving and reconciliation of orders; generating and analyzing product cycle reports within the Lightspeed point of sales system; and preparing the retail store for the annual retail inventory process. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create a welcoming store environment for our guests
  • Ensure high customer service standards while driving sales to achieve established goals
  • Ensure a safe and clean store; keep storage areas maintained and organized
  • Completes the product pick from back-stock to maintain store inventory
  • Ensure product is stocked, merchandise is easily located, displays are clean and attractive
  • Personnel Management:
    • Interview, hire, and train retail employees
    • Personnel management – coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, attendance time tracking, dress code enforcement, and Paycom administration
    • Create work schedule for team
    • Conduct team meetings, enforce company dress code, address employee conduct concerns and ensure company customer service standards are met
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action
  • Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational excellence including proper cash handling, company policies and procedures, and PCI compliance
  • Works with the Accounting to establish best practices and ensure financial P&L results; codes invoices in a timely manner, and follows company credit card requirements
  • Understands and maintains POS system (Lightspeed) and credit card processor (Kayenne), communicates with IT and software vendor on issues
  • Provides monthly sales reports to General Manager
  • Maintain Web Store for Pink Adventure Tours
    • Takes product photos, uploads images and pricing
    • Sets shipping charges
    • Works with processing company on web order processing issues
    • Executes web order sales and ships product to customers in a timely manner
  • Create memos, document process changes, and update procedure manuals
  • Works closely with Corporate Buyers on inventory management, new product designs, and merchandising displays
    • Work with Buyer to anticipate seasonal needs and adjust stocking levels accordingly
    • Analyze product pricing, profit margins and discount programs to ensure profit margin goals are achieved
    • Work on inventory turns, increasing margins, and general inventory management 
    • Monitors open purchase orders and communicates regularly with corporate buyers
    • Review and propose merchandise designs that reflect the Pink Adventure Tours brand
  • Formulates sales and pricing strategies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends
  • Establish standards for merchandise design, store layout, employee conduct and POS policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and all key contacts
  • Analyze sales and inventory reports, generate purchase orders for local vendors, receives product, and manages Sedona inventory
  • Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending trade shows, participating in educational workshops, and reviewing professional publications
  • Special projects or other duties as requested by management

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as a retail manager  
  • Familiarity of business and financial principles and practices
  • Effective time management, prioritization and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and relational management abilities
  • Proficient computer experience required (MS Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel). Knowledgeable with Google Drive, G-Mail, and POS systems.
  • Prior sales, customer service, and personnel management experience with increasing levels of responsibility and success

  • Ability to operate and use all equipment as necessary 
  • Ability to climb ladders, reach overhead, squat, and bend throughout the day
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours per day
  • Ability to move or handle merchandise and equipment throughout the Retail Store generally weighing up to 40 pounds, and heavier items with assistance
