The Bell Person is responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience by warmly welcoming guests and providing assistance in all aspects of the guest’s stay. They are to ensure the comfort of guests by assisting them with any questions, travel arrangement, etc. that they may have while providing luggage and shuttle assistance. Must have a great personality, be friendly and like people.


  • Offers assistance with vehicle doors and luggage upon guest arrival.
  • Assist guest with transportation when necessary.
  • Escorts incoming guests to their rooms while offering information about the hotels outlets and amenities.
  • Deliver guest luggage, packages etc. in a timely professional manner.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Complete all items on the daily checklist.
  • Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments and personnel.
  • Provide assistance to the concierge, front desk, and PBX when needed.
  • Must ensure the front drive and lobby are clean, organized and tidy along with the bell closet.
  • Conducts tours of hotel and guest rooms to guests.
  • Delivery of various guest items throughout hotel as needed.
  • Interfacing with front desk/PBX as required for meeting guests needs; does not loiter in the front desk or PBX areas unnecessarily.
  • Is knowledgeable of all hotel and conference center services and amenities.
  • Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve complaints independently.
  • Coordinate daily group arrival/departure preparation, special requests, room assignments and guest amenity deliveries.
  • Follow up with front office team members on daily shift and individual duties.
  • Responsible for maintaining Porte-cochere/lobby appearance while on duty.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Coordinate and assist Front Desk Agents with relocation of guests when necessary.
  • Deliver service at a level that exceeds guest expectations.
  • Access the hotel property management system (Maestro).
  • Maintain an efficient system of communication between the Front Office and other departments, with particular regard to guest arrivals and departures.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the Bell Captain or Front Office Manager(s).
  • Coordinate with other departments to insure quality guest satisfaction.
  • Attend and participate in all required meetings.
  • Ability to act independently with minimal supervision.
  • Support safe work habits and contribute to a safe working environment at all times.
  • Follow directions, get along with co-workers and supervisors, treat co-workers, supervisors and guests with respect and courtesy, contributes to a positive and rewarding team environment and refrains from abusive, insubordinate and/or violent behavior.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the supervisor.


  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts.
  • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.


  • Two year’s related hotel/resort industry experience and/or training.
  • High school or GED graduate. 



  • Ability to read, comprehend and provide instructions, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively present information to individuals and all sizes of groups (i.e. clients, customers,       guests, associates, managers etc.). 



  • Proficient in Outlook and Internet applications.



  • Must provide valid document(s) to work in the US.
  • Valid California Driver License is required (for specific positions).


The work environment at Resort ranges from winter time lows of 30 degrees to summer time highs to 80+ degrees. While performing these duties the employee may be exposed to outdoor and inclement weather conditions.

  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Lift 25-50 lbs. (for specific positions)
  • Sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.

Some positions will be required to wear uniforms. Uniforms are the property of Resort. Uniforms that have been tampered or destroyed will be the responsibility of the employee and disciplinary action will apply.

  • Hair must be clean and kept at a reasonable length.
  • All Food Servers and Culinary personnel must wear their hair tied back.
  • No extreme dying or bleaching of hair is permitted.
  • Fingernails must be clean and well-trimmed at all times.
  • Antiperspirant or deodorant must be worn.
  • Cologne or perfume may be worn at a minimum.
  • Nametags must always be worn, unless your department has a specific policy to the contrary.
