The Manager of Surgical Recovery provides leadership to the staff in functions to include donor management, organ preservation, organ perfusion, organ transportation for the purposes of transplant and research.  The Manager of Surgical Recovery is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of surgical recovery operations.  Oversees training and development of LifeShare staff to ensure knowledge and competence in the tasks associated with procurement and preservation of organs in the operating room.  Oversees supplies and equipment for surgical recovery functions, ensuring adequate supplies at all times Supports the mission of LifeShare of Oklahoma, and reflects positively on the company.

 What we are looking for: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in nursing, biomedicine or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. 
  2. Certified Transplant Preservationist and/or Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator preferred at time of hire. Required at one  Three to five years of experience with progressive healthcare leadership preferred.
  3. Two or more years of OPO experience preferred. Must demonstrate advanced knowledge and expertise in organ recovery and preservation knowledge and ability.
  4. History of demonstrated leadership.
  5. Must have the ability to keep accurate records, perform calculations, follow guidelines, and perform technical training.
  6. Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to meet the requirements of a demanding call schedule (required).  Must be able to work extended hours.
  7. Expert Knowledge of OPTN policy, OPO practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
  9. Proven ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and effective manner.
