Takes ownership of the Finance activity.

  • Prepares journal entries.

•     Prepares invoices and distributes to customer/funder accurately and timely.

  • Researching and resolving discrepancies discovered in the reconciliation process.
  • Working with outside tax preparers to ensure all required forms are filed accurately and timely.
  • Ensure the reconciliation process for payment vouchers from various funding sources against client billings. Prepare regular and requested reports of funding expended for each contractor. (A/R Accountant)
  • Manage/Coordinate Accounts Receivable for client accounts that are funded by State/Contract/MSO/Self Fund Billing. (A/R Accountant)
  • Coordinate all billing for services provided across agency. (A/R Accountant)
  • Understands and reviews all entries needed in the accounting system and ensures they are made when necessary.

•     Ensures monthly statements are accurate, timely and ensures successful yearly audits. 

•     Assists in creating budgets for each department and ensures each manager/coordinator keeps expenditures within the budget and is actively involved in the budgeting process.

•     Assures efficient management and stewardship of agency resources.

•     Prepares monthly financial reports and analysis reports to be presented to Finance Committee and the Board.

•     Understands the laws applicable to Not-for-Profits to ensure that the agency is in compliance with its reporting.

•     Oversees entry of Cash Receipts and Accounts Payable.

  • Supervise and ensure accurate and timely compilation and submission of client billing for various funding sources.
  • Ensure the reconciliation process for payment vouchers from various funding sources against client billings.
  • Prepare regular and requested reports of funding expended for each contractor.
  • Produce various reports, filing and copies on request and as needed.
  • Banking relationship management.

•     Timely completes all required reporting to outside agencies.

•     Promotes an environment that encourages cooperation, collaboration and creativity to advance collaborative efforts within the agency.

•     Performs other duties as assigned.

•     Knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge accounting software a plus


Education and Experience:

•     Five years of management experience accountable for complex financial and administrative operation.

•     Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

•     Knowledge of computer software such as email, word processing, spreadsheet, internet and database applications.

•     Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

•     Communicates orally with management, co-workers and the public in face-to face, one-to-one, and group settings.

•     Regularly uses a telephone for communication.

•     Uses office equipment such as computer terminals, copiers, and Fax machines.

•     Sits for extended time periods.

•     Hearing and vision within normal ranges.

•     Uses hands and fingers to handle and feel and reach with hands and arms.

•     Occasionally required to stand and walk.
