This position contributes to the calling of the organization by facilitating the annual budget process, creating reports with analysis and metrics for budget holders, supporting the users of all financial/ERP systems with training and documentation, contributing to the development of financial/ERP systems and maintaining a consistent coding structure in all systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties:

  • Lead the annual global budget process working with the CFO and the Executive Team by creating guidance/templates for budget holders, budget models for decision making, prior year analysis, current year projections plus providing budget system support/training as well as generating reports.
  • Reconcile budget revisions and manages budgets in the Unit 4/ERP system.
  • Prepare reports/lists to assist with annual external audit, Form 990 and the annual Indirect Cost proposal.
  • Update and issues monthly financial reports with analysis for the leadership that includes leading indicators and metrics.
  • Update weekly cash forecast working with various teams for current information.
  • Analyze and create models and forecasts to support strategic planning efforts.
  • Create and maintains technical guidance and financial manuals that include financial policies, business processes and flowcharts that incorporate grant regulations from various agencies/organizations.
  • Contribute to the development or implementation of financial systems in various countries in collaboration with the International Finance Director, Accounting Manager and the IS project team. This would include planning, design, user stories, data conversion, testing and developing training for users.
  • Develop ERP/financial systems trainings for all types of users and hold them regularly.
  • Identify and coordinate with leadership critical business reports and assists the IS project team with ERP/financial systems report development.
  • Maintain coding structure in all financial systems including ERP, payroll systems, CRM, expense management and other integrated software.
  • Create communications to global staff regarding new financial policies, business processes, technical guidance or other financial matters as needed.
  • Support the CFO in creating and updating dashboards and metrics for various stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for financial process improvements. This would include staying informed of new technology being introduced to the market.
  • Maintain the credit card system by setting up, editing, and terminating users.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis as requested.
  • Act as a point of contact for questions about financial system data and processes and participates in various project meetings.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • When appropriate, incorporates the use of volunteers in daily job functions.
  • Support safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, and Child & Vulnerable Adult protection policies and sexual harassment policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in information systems, finance, accounting, or closely related field.
  • Valid passport.
  • Valid driver license.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Three years of experience in working with ERP systems
  • Three years of financial analysis experience preferably with an NGO
  • Prior experience with technical writing and training

  • Flexibility to put in hours needed to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to provide excellent service, including being able to address complex matters, implement and communicate changes and coach teammates on how to fully employ technology.
  • Willing and able to travel overseas several times a year for up to two weeks at a time.
  • Ability and willingness to travel at short notice to country programs to provide surge capacity, support, and expertise for up to 20% of the time.
  • Ability to operate well in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Superior communicator. Able to communicate professionally and effectively at all levels within the organization, as well as externally, both in writing and verbally.
  • Advanced skills in Unit 4 or similar ERP system, Dynamics CRM or similar CRM system, expense management systems, payroll/HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
