MIND Research Institute is currently seeking a driven, innovative, and motivated problem solver to add to our team. The Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for gathering and documenting requirements from key stakeholders, proving value as a business requirements subject matter expert, and much more.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Program Manager and Product design team to ensure that all requirements are complete, logical, clearly stated, and actionable.
  • Create, maintain, and update detailed product requirements in stories, epics, and sub-tasks.
  • Create, maintain, and update data dictionaries.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on product specifications.
  • Attend engineering meetings and be a productive contributor to requirements, design, and development discussions.
  • Assist with defining project milestones, phases, and elements.
  • Provide references for internal team members by writing and maintaining various forms of documentation.
  • Quickly respond to requests for clarification of requirements from engineering, support, and customer success teams.
  • Identify and create use cases as starting points for product enhancements.
  • Identify areas of system ambiguity as well as business rules that still need to be defined in product specifications.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience interpreting detailed product requirements and interacting with software engineering.
  • Fluent in web app development, database structures, and client/server communications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills, with focus on getting the most out of an engineering teams capabilities by bringing clear, logical, and well understood requirements to the table.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, quality assurance, support, marketing, and sales.
  • Experience working with request tracking and knowledge management tools, such as Jira and Confluence.
  • 3+ years of experience in the web development industry is highly desired.
  • Kanban or Agile software development, Project Manager or Product Owner certification/experience is highly desired.
  • Programming experience, especially JavaScript in Canvas or Web Components is nice to have.
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Aurelia or Nuxt is nice to have.

This role can be based in Irvine, CA or anywhere in the United States, as long as you dont mind turning on your webcam to build a rapport. If remote, you may be visiting the sunny Southern California office 1-2x a year (when it is safe to do so). This position will report to the Lead Program Manager.
