Description

The Dental Practice Manager provides daily oversite to ensure smooth operations of the Dental Practice. Collaborates with the Dental Director of Operations and the Site Associate Dental Director to uphold patient safety, quality of care, and general effectiveness of Dental services.  Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies; OSHA.  Ensures that all services are functioning on a fully-integrated level, while maintaining the highest degree of clinical and patient satisfaction. 

 

  • Acts as the single point of contact for all site operations and delegates accordingly.
  • Works in collaboration with the Chief Dental Officer, Dental Director and on-site Associate Dental Director as needed.
  • May provide oversite at one or two Dental sites based on organizational needs.
  • Identifies needs for additional services in collaboration with providers and leadership staff. 
  • Carries out the strategic plans and operational goals for the site under the direction of the Dental Director.
  • Oversees clinical and administrative staff at assigned site.
  • Works with members of Management Team (Human Resources, IT, Revenue Cycle, Finance, Marketing, QI, Facilities, etc.) in the development and implementation of projects, protocols, and policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that the site is appropriately and adequately staffed at all times.
  • Works in collaboration with Human Resources to fill staff vacancies at the site.  Screens candidates and conducts interviews.  Makes hiring recommendations to Human Resources. 
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding of new staff members.
  • Manages support staff scheduling changes.  
  • Manages timesheets and approves for payroll.  Approves PTO as requested.  Approves Overtime as necessary. 
  • Ensure appropriate ordering of supplies and managing of inventory levels.
  • Manages (non-provider) employees’ performance and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Addresses concerns of the site and resolves problems within the department
  • Manages site budget.
  • Represents the organization as an ambassador; working with other Managers and Supervisors within the same community to ensure consistent communication with external partners.
  • Attends management meetings and related trainings.
  • Ensures compliance with established organizational policies including but not limited to, clinical, safety, financial, and personnel, etc.
  • Responsible for customer relations and satisfaction.
  • Has full understanding of programs and policies which will assist patients in meeting financial obligations for treatment.  Completes and submits prior authorization forms.
  • Cross trains in dental areas in order to provide back-up. This may include the areas of dental assist/sterilization/front desk/benefits navigator/hygiene, as training allows.
  • Tracks lab invoices and approves for timely payment. 
  • Monitors equipment and assures proper use, testing, cleaning and maintenance is completed in accordance with the manufacturer or OSHA
  • Conducts site meetings with support staff focusing on ways to meet patient needs and improve satisfaction
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent, or completion of a Dental Hygiene program; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Three years supervisory experience preferred.

 

English required.   Bilingual in English/Spanish language desirable. Ability to read & interpret documents, reports & correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups and/or individuals.
