GENERAL FUNCTIONS: Provide individuals and families who have experienced sexual violence and/or intimate partner violence, support by providing assistance navigating the legal system and filing an emergency protective order, accompaniment to court, safety planning, empathetic response to their needs and connection to other community resources.       




  • Offer support to clients with filling out and filing Emergency Protective Orders
  • Attend weekly EPO court in Floyd and Clark county
  •  Conduct assessments, intakes and follow-up for those in need of services 
  • Partner with clients to establish safety plans, strengths and needs, create a case plan, coordinate transportation, accompaniment to appointments and offer referrals and resources
  • Facilitate support and psychoeducational groups
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with other community service providers, law enforcement, judges, attorney’s and other courthouse personnel
  • Provide professional training to law enforcement and other providers within the legal system
  • Coordinate interactions and activities that contribute to safe, stable, nurturing environments
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor's degree or 3 years of relevant experience is required.



  • 40 hours training on Rape and Sexual Abuse to be completed within 90 days (3 months) of employment (8 of the 40 hours) must be completed prior to direct client contact
  • 12 hours of continued education (CE) over a two-year period, must include 6 hours of Rape/Sexual Abuse topics and 6 hours of Domestic Violence topics.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required within first year of employment and kept current thereafter.
  • Must be certified in Universal Precautions/Bloodborne Pathogens within first 30 days of employment and keep current thereafter.



  • Independent problem solving, use of good judgment, basic computer skills, good verbal and written communication, relationship building, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, assertiveness, public speaking and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of court system, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, EPOs and no contact orders.
  • Fluency in languages other than English and cultural knowledge are a plus.



  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets CWF automobile insurance requirements.
  • Must pass a criminal background and motor vehicle check, post-contingent of offer of employment.
