Comprehensive Life Resources is looking for qualified and passionate Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary care team in Tacoma Washington.

Function:

The successful ARNP candidate will work as part of multidisciplinary teams including nursing, case management and therapists caring for an urban, safety-net population with a high prevalence of serious mental illnesses (e.g., schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, complex trauma) across different care settings. An important focus for the ARNP in our multidisciplinary care teams is improving psychiatric and overall health outcomes utilizing evidence-based practices as well as a willingness to participate in outreach visits. This position involves seeing patients in our adult outpatient clinic.  There are also teaching opportunities through supervision of Family Medicine residents and Primary Care Nurse Practitioner residents from Community Health Care Family Medicine as well as working with ARNP students. This position is Monday through Friday with no on-call responsibilities. The position reports to CLR’s Chief Medical Officer. Eligible candidates should have an interest in working with patients with serious mental illnesses and substantial medical comorbidity as well as a DEA-waiver to prescribe buprenorphine. Candidates with a minimum of two years’ experience working in the field are especially encouraged to apply.

 

Qualifications

  • A master's degree in Psychiatric Nursing Practice with state certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or a Doctor of Psychiatric Nursing Practice degree.
  • WA State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority
  • National Certification as Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. 
  • A current DEA number.
  • Must apply to be credentialed with all Center contracted payors.      
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal laws and professional standards related to psychiatric treatment.                     
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate patients, set up and carry out an effective course of treatment utilizing the expertise of other clinical personnel with a minimum of direction.
  • Experience with, and interest in, working with diverse populations with serious mental illnesses and co-occurring substance use disorders.

While the position advertised is full-time, part-time status (minimum 0.4 FTE; minimum of 0.8 FTE is necessary for health/dental/vision/life insurance benefit eligibility though pro-rated CME/licensure/board certification reimbursement is available) is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
