Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Problem-solver ready to focus on issues and find immediate solutions as well as developing preventive solutions

  • Experience working in the education system

  • Experience using SQL to investigate issues and create reports in databases

  • In-depth understanding of Account Provisioning needs for educators and students

  • Knowledge of different account provisioning options including OneRoster, csv and API processes

  • Familiarity with the SIS systems in use across the education system

  • Ability to investigate, analyze and solve issues using knowledge of the above

  • Knowledge of and experience using Jenkins to manage provisioning work

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tier 2 support for support team for roster issues

  • Monitor roster failures for follow-up as needed

  • Configure jobs for account provisioning based on district requirements

  • Work with implementation managers to

    • Test incoming csv and API data and analyze issues

    • Report issues using language a customer can understand

    • See provisioning process through to completion and customer startup

  • Use SQL to investigate and analyze issues in the DB by running queries

  • Work as liaison between Engineering and Ed Success to insure smooth operation and cooperation between departments

Communication:

  • Document and report progress in provisioning and customer issues

  • Report on provisioning activities using established metrics and suggest improvements

  • Proactively identify problems with requirements (lack of clarity, inconsistencies) while testing, and communicates these issues early to help course-correct

  • Attend Triage meetings to report on findings and discuss issues

Additional Desirable Technical Skills:

  • Jira, Git and BitBucket or other software life cycle management tools

  • Reading and manipulating JSON and XML data exchange formats

This role can be based in Irvine, CA or anywhere in the United States, as long as you don't mind turning on your webcam to build a rapport. If remote, you may be visiting the sunny Southern California office 1-2x a year (when it is safe to do so). This position will report to the Director, Sustained Engineering.
