Description

The United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania is seeking a 211 Database Coordinator for an exciting initiative that links thirty counties in Pennsylvania with easily accessible and accurate information about community resources. 211 is a nationally recognized, easy to remember phone number that is currently available to 94% of the American public. This service provides an efficient connection between people seeking assistance with available local health and human service resources. The 211 Database Coordinator will focus on ensuring that the data available for the project is as up-to-date and accurate as possible and is following InformUSA and PA 211 standards. The 211 Database Coordinator will also be responsible for regional reporting, organizing community awareness events, as well as managing overall updates in the system, raising community awareness of 211 and always promoting collaboration among agencies. This is a fully remote position.

 

Essential Functions

  • Must be located in Philadelphia County.
  • Database update efforts for the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania multi-regional 211 system, primary focus on southeastern Pennsylvania.
  • Support Information & Referral Specialists to ensure quality of service to caller through ongoing communication (regarding information updates and technical assistance) with Contact Center Management
  • Produce specialized 211 reports as needed.
  • Produce electronic resource directories as needed.
  • Maintain professional relationship with agencies in southeastern PA, securing timely agency updates and maximum participation in the 211 system.
  • Index information in the 211 database in accordance with AIRS and state 211 standards.
  • Data Compliance efforts – Ensure that resources include all required elements, ensure that taxonomy adheres to style guide and has limited double indexing, and ensure that resources meet agency style guide and InformUSA Standards.
  • Coordinate with agencies to assure resources match UWSWPA 211 resources and meet compliance efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Required
    • High school diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or Technology/Database related field

Annual Salary

  • Pay Grade 102
  • Salary Range $34,608 - $40,685

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Required
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Excellent writing and editing skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Experience in indexing or classification strongly preferred
    • Computer skills must be extremely proficient in Excel, Word, and experienced with social media.
    • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
    • A collaborator capable and willing to support all aspects and jobs required for a successful organization
    • Must have a passion for improving access to information.
    • Ability to manage priorities and to meet deadlines in a demanding environment.
    • Knowledge of southeast Pennsylvania community

Certifications/Licenses

  • Preferred
    • InformUSA Certification for Community Resource Specialist - Database Curator(CRS - DC) ((Or willing to obtain when eligible))
    • Valid driver’s license and ownership of personal vehicle

Physical Demands

  • SedentaryExerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Travel Requirements

  • Potential travel outside the region via ground transportation
