Solect is currently seeking a full-time Financial Analyst whose primary role is to provide financial modelling support to the sales team while continuing to refine Solect’s project financing model. In addition, the Financial Analyst will work closely with the Construction Services Team and the rest of the Finance team to improve Solect’s speed and accuracy of project estimating.  This candidate will work in our Hopkinton, MA office.   This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team in the exciting solar industry and to make a positive contribution to the environment.  Solect is committed to building a culture of excellence through employee development by creating an environment that inspires innovation and teamwork. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support Business Development Managers by modeling complex solar and energy storage opportunities

  • Continually refine Solect’s financial model by integrating regulatory changes, equipment changes, learnings from experience on completed projects

  • Refine current financial modeling tool and develop a fully integrated sales proposal template.

  • Analyze actual vs. estimated costs to improve Solect’s accuracy in estimating

  • Interface with key vendors and suppliers to understand and improve costing of critical materials.

  • Support Design and Site Estimators by building and maintaining an easy-to-use, up-to-date database and methodology for costing complex projects

  • Support the Energy Storage, Sales, and other Departments as necessary with reporting and analysis

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Excellent financial acumen: Knowledge of accounting, financial statements, time value of money, and metrics that are meaningful to C-level decision-makers

  • 3-5 years related work experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Creative problem solver – this role requires someone with the ability to understand high-level company goals and determine the best way to support them

  • Strong communication skills – this role will interface with several internal company functions and require a thorough understanding of all stakeholder requirements to develop “user friendly” tools and models

  • Ability to develop a strong understanding of regulations and how they impact project financials

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently

  • Highly ethical, professional and a commitment to team success

  • Experience working in Salesforce a strong plus

  • Bachelor's degree required.
