Location:                    Long Island City, NY

Days/Hours:               Monday thru Friday, most days 9-5pm and some 12-8pm



Position Summary:

Responsible for providing case management and substance abuse counseling for a caseload of approximately 20-25 Alternative to Incarceration (“ATI”) clients with a history of criminal justice involvement.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a therapeutic alliance with clients;
  • Conduct individual counseling sessions, and a weekly group session;
  • Write individual client-based progress notes and goal-orientated treatment plans following OASAS guidelines and ATI contract specifications;
  • Maintain detailed and accurate case records following OASAS guidelines;
  • Monitor client attendance and compliance with contract benchmarks in order to ensure clients meet benchmarks;
  • Maintain good communication with Court Writers, Court Advocates, and/or other staff members within agency that share client;
  • Participate in case conference and clinical supervision meetings;
  • Provide linkages to outside agencies for additional services; and
  • Participate in training opportunities;
  • Contribute to the on-going development of the Treatment Services Unit;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, or full CASAC required;
  • Knowledge of addiction and recovery dynamics and treatment intervention modes;
  • At least one year of clinical experience in a drug abuse treatment environment preferred;
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Must be computer literate, able to utilize our Electronic Health Record, and typing speed of 25 wpm preferred;
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task around numerous client and administrative task lists;
  • Accuracy and completeness in work product;
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred; and

Travel Requirements: May require occasional travel to our Harlem location.
