The manual printer position is a multi-level position for the Screen Print Production Department. The person hired for this position can begin as an entry-level employee but can excel at this role as their productivity increases. This person will be responsible for carefully putting the garments on the manual printing press to receive the correct design, with the correct placement and location on the garment. This task requires the garment to be placed accurately every time and at a productive pace based on minimum average expectation of 200 impressions/hour. The person is also responsible for carefully taking the printed shirts off of the machine and placing them on the dryer conveyor belt without damaging the shirt or the print and applying adhesive often to insure future garments adhere to the printing surface. Each shirt requires a quick quality check to insure consistency with the directive to correct any issues that develop. Any issues beyond the control or knowledge of the individual need to be addressed with the assigned line supervisor. This position requires the individual to be able to set up the machine efficiently and accurately at a minimum standard of 5 minutes per screen. This position sets the pace for all daily production performed on their assigned machine, carefully observing all personnel and mechanical functions to insure consistency and reporting any variances to their line supervisor. This position performs all set-ups and teardowns of jobs, performs operation of the assigned machine and performs cleaning throughout the shift. All printing is done by hand on this machine.
