Youth Residential Treatment Facility

$25 - $37.15 / DOE

 

Pierce County’s first Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic.

 

Comprehensive Life Resources is looking for a qualified Mental Health Therapist to join our Youth Residential Treatment Facility in Tacoma WA.

Function: Provide individual, group, and family therapy to residents and their families.  Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team and participate in evaluations and development of treatment plans.  Coordinate treatment services delivery with other team members.  Serves as a member of the organization that welcomes, engages and serves individuals with complex needs.   

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapeutic and evaluation support services for residents and their families.
  • Provide family therapy services and educational support.
  • Coordinate individual treatment services for residents.
  • Provide group therapy for residents.
  • Provide additional treatment services as directed.
  • Participate in treatment planning for residents and their families.
  • Meet regularly with the treatment team.
  • Coordinate activities closely with milieu staff.
  • Maintain safety of residents through proper supervision and adherence to treatment program procedures.
  • Comply with policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Provide service related to discharge plans through the treatment plan review.
  • Attend performance improvement meetings.
  • Assist Program Manager in ongoing assessment of PSC clinical program.
  • Write treatment plan reviews.
  • Meet with residents to discuss change in treatment plans.  Inform family members of changes in treatment plans.
  • Complete family assessments.
  • Help coordinate admissions.
  • Serve as consultant and review plans for staff regarding resident treatment issues.
  • Ensure the care, safety, and supervision of residents.
  • Utilize individualized and tailor care treatment practices.
  • Instruct, assist, and provide skill development regarding life skills, social skills, vocational skills, and leisure/recreation skills and activities.
  • Coordinate and interact professionally, cooperatively, and promptly with other team members in routine and crisis situations. 
  • Respond promptly to pager messages, as required.
  • Work to ensure communication among team members during and between shifts.
  • Work with team members to create and contribute to a positive learning environment for all.
  • Document the provision of care in the progress notes.
  • Document all accidents, special treatment procedure, and extraordinary circumstances.
  • Report unsafe conditions and needed repairs to shift supervisor, program manager, or safety officer.
  • Actively seek and schedule clinical supervision.
  • Use appropriate problem resolution activities to resolve conflicts.
  • Attend Performance Improvement and Risk Management meetings.
  • Ensure that ethical and professional standards of practice are maintained.

 

  • Annual flu shot verification and willing to follow other measures as directed by Infection Control Manager.
  • In addition to the above, perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • MSW/MA/MS.  Two years experience in evaluation, case management, individual, group, and family therapy with children and youth.  Experience in psychiatric residential treatment desirable.  Qualified as a Child Mental Health Specialist (WAC 275-56-185).  
  • WA State credential/registration.  WA State licensure preferred.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification. 
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license; proof of insurance.
