Title:                           Human Resources Administrative Assistant

Status:                       FT; Non-Exempt

Location:                  Long Island City, NY

Days/Hours:            Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm


Position Summary:

The Human Resources Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the HR team in recruitment, benefits, training, and other areas. The HR Administrative Assistant will also respond to employee inquiries to ensure a high level of customer service. He/She will have excellent organizational skills and will be able to identify alternative solutions to problems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Maintain employee personnel files to ensure legal compliance and maintain accurate records in our HRIS system
  • Arrange regular information sessions for potential volunteers and orientation sessions for new interns and volunteers
  • Provide written and verbal employment verification
  • Perform customer service functions by providing first line of support to employees and managers
  • Assist in the preparation of company events
  • Maintain the HR team calendar and create agenda for weekly team meetings
  • Coordinate meetings and manage calendar for the department head
  • Assist in HR-related audit requests and run reports as requested
  • Process mail and distribute to the appropriate person on the team
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field preferred
  • Human Resources experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook and working knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and resourceful



Travel Requirements:  May require travel to our NYC office and other trainings and meetings within New York City.
