Fort Worth Country Day’s Athletic Department is seeking several Varsity Assistant Coaches for the 2021 - 2022 school year. Reporting directly to the individual sports’ Program Director and also to the Director of Athletics, the Varsity Assistant Coaches must model integrity, have a strong work ethic, and be fully committed to the growth and development of our student-athletes



Varsity Assistant Coach

  • Seeking an experienced assistant football coach for the 2021 season, which runs from August 2 through the first week in November
  • Work closely with the varsity and JV teams
  • Practices are typically held 4:00pm-6:00pm each day
  • JV games are Thursday; varsity games are on Friday
  • Preference will be given to coaches who have experience working with the defensive line


Girls Cross Country:

Varsity Assistant Coach

  • Work with the Varsity Girls Cross Country team over the course of the fall season, beginning August 2 through the first weekend in November
  • Work closely with the Varsity Head Coach/Program Director to plan training sessions for the team
  • Practices are held 6:45am-8:00am before school; meets are typically held on Saturday mornings


Girls Basketball:

Varsity Assistant Coach 

  • Work with the JV and Varsity Girls Basketball teams over the course of the winter season, which begins in early November and goes through the first weekend in February
  • Work closely with the Varsity Head Coach/Program Director to plan practices and game strategies
  • Playing and coaching experience preferred


Boys Lacrosse:

Varsity Assistant Coach 

  • This position may include serving as the Head JV Lacrosse coach as well
  • The School participates in both Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) and the Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC)
  • Playing experience beyond high school and experience coaching at this age level is preferred
  • The season begins in early February and goes through late April
  • Practices are scheduled from 4:30pm-6:00pm during the week with one to two games a week
  • Coaches are expected to be at practice 30 minutes before practices and a half hour before games
  • Saturdays will either be used to play games or conduct practices
  • Duties include: running drills effectively, keeping players focused at practice, run the substitution box effectively at games, break down game tape and assist in scouting and game-planning


Physical requirements, working conditions and environment:

  • Ability to stand/walk/run for extended periods of time and to participate in physically demanding athletic activities
  • Exposure to moderate indoor temperatures or outdoor temperatures of hot and cold
  • Ability to travel off-campus for athletic competitions
  • Long or odd hours, as needed
