Position Summary: 

This position is responsible for overseeing Men’s Ministry administrative processes and all facility support service functions for the Men’s Shelter, Riverton Place and Satellite Shelter buildings.


Essential Job Duties:

  1. Provide organizational, spiritual, and administrative leadership to all direct reports, which includes training, development, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  2. Oversee all Men's Ministry support operations to ensure the highest-quality service to guests, residents, volunteers and staff.
  3. Accept staff schedule from individual team administrators and supervisors, then consolidate and distribute Men's Ministry staff schedule.
  4. Maintain accurate and timely records, ensuring the physical security, maintenance and cleanliness of Men's Ministry facilities. 
  5. Accept all IT and maintenance requests from Men’s Ministry supervisors and create work-order requests with appropriate SUGM departments.  Follow up to ensure proper and timely completion of work-orders. 
  6. Prepare monthly statistical and narrative reports as required.
  7. Participate in SUGM staff  meetings and ministry collaboration to ensure best guest/resident care.
  8. Attend all Mission meetings and training sessions, as required.
  9. Ensure timely and professional execution of all necessary administrative process, including but not limited to timesheet processing, donations, sustenance payments, and additional miscellaneous income.
  10. Supervise direct report staff ensuring compliance with all relevant SUGM policies, procedures and training. 
  11. Manage, support, facilitate and review the work of direct report(s) by equipping, encouraging and empowering in their specific areas of responsibilities.
  12. Manage, review and approve all department staff hiring and disciplinary actions, in cooperation with Men’s Ministry Director and HR.
  13. Maintain a positive, pleasant, professional Christian attitude. Work with other staff to forge and model transparent and supportive Christian relationships which will serve as a leadership example for recovery program men.
  14. Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission accepts and encourages the involvement of volunteers at all levels in the organization. All employees are expected to interact positively and cooperatively with our volunteers.
  15. Attend all Mission meetings and training sessions, as required.
  16. Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.


Non-Essential Job Duties:

  • Make proposals for the improvement of shelter processes.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Other:

  1. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook proficiency required.
  2. Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills required.
  3. Ability to exercise initiative, judgment and decision-making in meeting objectives required.
  4. Ability to successfully manage multiple responsibilities at one time required.
  5. Ability to lead, train and manage staff required.
  6. Ability to partner across an organization required.
  7. Ability to use own vehicle for occasional business purposes required.
  8. Valid Washington State Driver’s License and ability to meet the standards of the Mission’s drivers’ criteria required.

Education:        BA/BS or equivalent years of experience required.


Experience:      Two years of administrative experience required.  Supervisory experience required.
