Part Time
  • Provide clinical experience in the management of medical and psychiatric emergencies
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients and their families.
  • Coordinate with Medical Director to address necessary updates to medication protocols to meet current best practices as well as administer medications when ordered by Medical Director.
  • Collaborate with admissions and clinical team to support a safe and secure unit milieu.
  • Ensure compliance with Austin Recovery, state, federal and other regulations, as required.
  • Provide psycho-education information to clients regarding medication, STI’s and hygiene.
  • Administer TB tests, urine drug screens and urine pregnancy test and ensure testing is performed safely and efficiently.
  • Remain compliant with all Austin Recovery staff training.
  • Perform other related assignments as directed by Medical Director or Director of Residential Programs.
  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Current Texas nursing credentials
  • Must be CPR/First Aid certified upon hire or within 90 days of hire.
  • Good communication skills, ability to work with co-workers and establish rapport with clients.
  • Skill to coordinate work and collaborate with other AR departments, agencies, organizations, individuals and the public.


Education and Experience:

  • At least one-year previous experience working in the field of substance use treatment or behavioral health related services preferred.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology as it relates to individuals with substance abuse and mental health disorders.
  • Experience in providing medical care to diverse client populations.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Communicates orally with management, co-workers and the public in face-to face, one-to-one, and group settings.
  • Regularly uses a telephone for communication.
  • Uses office equipment such as computer terminals, copiers, printers and scanners.
  • Sits for extended time periods

  • Director of Residential Programs
