Description

Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare is currently seeking a Health Information Management Analyst to add to our team of professionals.  This position will assist in designing processes to collect important data for grant reporting and accreditation purposes. The HIM Analyst will develop reports from the electronic record data warehouse through knowledge of SQL and clinical programs and processes.

WHAT IS THIS POSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR?

  1. Regularly collects data and creates reports for grant reporting and other company quality measures,
  2. Participates in development of logic models and associated standardized workflow to maximize efficiency of data collection processes.
  3. Able to work effectively as a member of interdepartmental and interagency working teams to implement clinically meaningful data collection and reporting.
  4. Ability to utilize population-based population health data portals in developing internal community needs assessments.
  5. Assists leadership team in identifying priorities for improvements in clinical services and operations and tracks relevant data to monitor progress towards reaching those goals.
  6. Responds to requests for data reports from internal users and external entities, for data driven decision making, and data reporting to external funders and partners.
  7. Coordinates the collection of data required by outside entities, such as quality measures.
  8. Develops meaningful dashboard reports of key data elements to present to Board of Directors, Leadership Team, and Quality Assessment and Improvement Committee.
  9. Conducts ongoing evaluations of clinical programs and services in relation to effectiveness and efficiency by developing, creating and producing reports using SQL.
  10. Stays current with electronic record processes, clinical workflow processes, and grant reporting requirements.
  11. Assists clinical team with ongoing compliance with accreditation standards and healthcare measures by providing relevant data.
  12. Assists in ongoing development of the electronic data system assure that the system will capture meaningful data on clinical services.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  1. Serves on various committees, as directed.
  2. Other duties as assigned.
  3. Works independently meeting all data deadlines, while functioning as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications

WHAT'S REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION?

  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Must have knowledge and skills related to SQL.
  • Strong data query, data analysis, and report development skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required.
