​Nonprofit Management Services of Colorado (NMSC), an affiliate of Developmental Pathways and Continuum of Colorado, has a fantastic opportunity for a Billing Coordinator who will get to perform day-to-day billing functions and provide support to our internal and external customers.

Our Billing Coordinator position is based out of our Inverness office located just south of the Denver Tech Center, in Denver, CO. We’re committed to a great work-life balance here so our workweek is full-time at 36 hours/week; working Mondays – Thursdays with our office closed on Fridays! Even better, after 90 days of employment, you’re eligible to work remotely 1 day/week.

More about what you’ll get to do as our Billing Coordinator

  • Bill claims/services and miscellaneous items to various insurances, including Medicaid and commercial insurances, for the Community Center Board (CCB) and other agencies, within the monthly billing cycle
  • Research and re-bill unpaid claims or other outstanding receivables; distribute reports as needed
  • Identify areas of concern and aid in the development of processes for resolution
  • Perform billing reconciliations
  • Create invoices/notices that are mailed to insurers when payments are not received timely for the purpose of collections
  • Maintain billing records
  • Monitor and assure that billing files are maintained according to agency and governmental standards
  • Prepare financial documents according to department and audit requirements
  • Problem-solve issues with supervisor’s direction
  • Assist in schedule preparation for the annual audit as needed
     

Starting Salary and Benefits

Qualifications

Must haves to be our Billing Coordinator

  • Associates degree in a business-related field and/or equivalent work experience in medical billing
  • Experience in health insurance policies and procedures with an emphasis on Medicaid and commercial insurance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to effectively communicate with managers, peers, person’s in services, families and others
  • Ability to provide good customer service at all times, including in stressful situations
  • Ability to perform computer functions necessary to carry out job responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals
  • High degree of accuracy with time-sensitive, detailed information
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make effective decisions
  • Ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulatory guidelines
  • Ability to work flexible hours
