Temporary 4-month internal role with possible conversion to full-time employment

Remote, or onsite in Rockville, MD

 

The Contracts Associate supports the growth of the company by performing contract administration functions that require pre-award, post-award and contract close-out administration in accordance with Cella’s policies, client requirements, and governmental requirements. Adheres to contract management process for a variety of agreements, including but not limited to, staffing and consulting service agreements, employee agreements, independent contractor agreements, project-based Statement of Work agreements, and supplemental documentation.

Who YOU are:

You are a collaborative and motivated professional with strong attention to detail. You enjoy supporting sales efforts through every phase of contract, including researching the legal terms and negotiating with the customer to provide a beneficial solution for both Cella and its client(s).

You enjoy budling and maintaining relationships with customers and vendors and possess strong interpersonal communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and processes agreements using standard acceptable terms in accordance with Document Approval/Contract Review SOPs. 
  • Review contract terms and advises internal stakeholders on risk area and negotiation strategy; seek guidance on complex terms and conditions from managers.
  • Review executed agreements and accurately input contractual data into the company CRM. Prepare and distribute any necessary contract summaries to. Ensure all internal stakeholders are made aware of key contract terms.
  • Facilitate correspondence with clients and vendors to fulfill compliance requirements such as certificates of insurance, diversity certifications and others.
  • Respond to general queries from internal customers and external clients to contracts@cellainc.com email address, ensuring all concerns are resolved or escalated to the appropriate contact in a timely manner.
  • Use insurance broker online tools to request and issue Certificates of Insurance in accordance with contract terms.
  • Complete Vendor Registration documents which are typically required from clients to ensure timely payment of invoices. Work with Accounting department to obtain EFT/ACH information and approval. 
  • Assist with Requests for Proposals and/or Requests for Information, such as gathering compliance documentation, data entry into web-based procurement systems, and any other projects as requested. 
  • Other ad-hoc requests.

What WE expect:

  • Minimum 1-3 years progressively responsible experience in commercial services contract preparation or legal environment, preferably with both public and private sector experience – all with increasing responsibilities and successes.
  • Minimum 1-3 years demonstrated experience negotiating terms with customers and/or clients in a professional setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-based, transparent, and deadline-driven environment.
  • Great energy, passion for learning, self-motivated and go-getter mentality, and accountability.
  • Bachelors degree in (i) Business Administration, (ii) Business or Contract Law course review, degrees or minors or (iii) or other relevant experience.
  • Proficiency using e-Procurement tools (Ariba, SAP, etc.), Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office products, including Word (using Track Changes) and Excel.
  • Proficiency in a MAC based environment.
