Seattle's Union Gospel Mission is currently looking for a Support Services Coordinator to join the Women and Children's Ministries team in Seattle, WA.


Seattle's Union Gospel Mission is a private faith-based organization that helps the community to reach out with compassion to those who have lost hope. And as a community, we empower one another to build, lead and give back.


The Support Services Coordinator works with a team of staff members to help create a safe, healing environment for women and children in a Christian residential program.  This position is responsible for mentoring the women and children, scheduling and overseeing the women in housekeeping work therapy, and the general cleaning and upkeep of Hope Place, ReNovo and SonRise Facilities.


Our Women and Children's Ministries team is looking for its newest member and we think that could be you!



Shift Schedule

Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm plus occasional weekends, evenings, holidays.


Essential Job Duties

  1. Schedule and oversee housekeeping work therapy.
  2. Work as part of a team to minister to the women by being a good Christian role model and by being willing to confront the guests respectfully and consistently
  3. Supervise chores performed by guests.
  4. Complete weekly guest room cleanliness checks at all locations.
  5. Hold guests accountable to program and individual goals and guidelines.
  6. Inventory, organize supply areas and keep necessary quantities of supplies on hand.
  7. Thoroughly clean common areas as needed by sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and window cleaning.
  8. Clean guest rooms and bathrooms as assigned.
  9. Thoroughly keep common restrooms sanitized and stocked.
  10. Seek out areas that need cleaning.
  11. Keep hygiene and other donations organized.
  12. Train, supervise and equip volunteers as needed.
  13. Clean offsite properties/transitional units when needed.
  14. Contribute to the overall safety and maintenance of the building by filling out necessary maintenance request forms and reports.  
  15. Help out at the front desk as needed.
  16. Communicate daily with staff via email.
  17. Attend community meetings and staffing meetings as required.
  18. Be available to cover evening shifts and/or Sunday rotation shifts when needed.
  19. Provide set up/tear down and support for special events including AV for Graduation.
  20. Complete data entry, documents in Clarity and record events during shift in the Facility Log
  21. Attend and participate in all Mission, Division and Department meetings and trainings, as required.
  22. Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. The successful candidate will have an active church/prayer life and demonstrate a strong desire to serve the Mission by ministering to those whom it serves.
  2. Must agree with Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission Statement of Faith, Mission and Vision Statements and have a personal ethos and work ethic that reflects the Mission’s Core Values.
  3. Sensitivity to cultural diversity is required.
  4. Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission accepts and encourages the involvement of volunteers at all levels in the organization.   5. Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug and criminal background screenings.
  6. Possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License and be able to meet the standards of the Mission driver criteria strongly preferred, including but not limited to:
    1. Clean driving record
    2. No current suspensions or revocations
    3. At least 21 years of age
  7. A Strong love for the Lord and passion for ministering to women and children.
  8. Agreement with the purposes of the Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission and Women & Children’s Ministries’ grace-based team approach to ministry.
  9. Possess a positive, professional, and flexible attitude.
  10. Ability to work in cooperation with the other Mission staff.
  11. Good attention to detail and follow-through.
  12. Basic cleaning and sanitizing skills.
  13. Ability to deal therapeutically with behavioral problems presented by individuals and de-escalate situations as needed.
  14. Understanding of trauma and its impact.



Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; bend, stoop or reach.
  2. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis
  3. Talk on telephone and use computer extensively.



High School diploma or equivalent required.



Previous janitorial service experience preferred.
