This position will report to the Engineering Manager and is to be based in either Mt. Vernon, MO or Lafayette, IN.  Duties will include designing and documenting suspension components and sub-assemblies for the powered vehicle, trailer, and/or light vehicle markets under technical supervision of Design Engineering using SolidWorks CAD and PDM data management software.  As required, modify and update existing models, drawings, and documentation to support company needs; create and change Engineering drawings; create and update Bills of Material [BOM]; generate and complete Engineering Change Requests [ECRs]; participate in DFMEA development; support R&D Lab with testing and test fixture design; conduct cost reduction studies.


Additional duties include using SolidWorks CAD software to design suspension sub-systems and components; working with the team to develop innovative solutions to meet customer requirements; Installation and Maintenance manual development, input, and review; development of Engineering Standards and/or Instructions and any other responsibilities and projects as directed by the VP of Engineering or Engineering Manager.

This position requires junior level college at minimum.  Experience requirements include 3D modeling using SolidWorks (preferred) and/or other CAD Software and MS Excel proficiency.  Must possess good written and verbal communication skills; good computer skills: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, PDF Editor, SolidWorks, PDM; the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; good attendance; the ability to work efficiently in a team setting; attention to detail.

Physical demands include the ability to lift 50 lbs.  Needs to be hands on and assist in test set up or pre-production builds. Must possess the ability to use common mechanic/shop tools.
