Solect is currently seeking a full-time Sr. Design Engineer whose primary role is  to work with other internal design and engineering staff to create ground mount and solar canopy and energy storage designs in AutoCAD, producing construction document sets, and electrical single-line diagrams.  This candidate will work in our Hopkinton, MA office.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in C&I Solar PV design and engineering.  This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team in the exciting solar industry and to make a positive contribution to the environment.  Solect is committed to building a culture of excellence through employee development by creating an environment that inspires innovation and teamwork. 



Key Responsibilities

  • Create canopy, ground mount and new rooftop solar designs that conform to NEC codes and permitting  requirements using AutoCAD

  • Design energy storage systems into existing and new solar projects

  • Create electrical single-line diagrams to be reviewed and stamped by PE

  • Work with Regulatory team on utility revisions during interconnection process

  • Produce construction document sets that will be used during construction, including required details such as equipment pad design/layouts and switch gear elevations, as well as  creating as built construction documents once project is complete

  • Create site plans depicting equipment pads/locations, transformer pads, trench route and point of interconnection details.



  • Minimum 3 years experience in C&I Solar PV design and engineering required

  • Minimum 1 year Energy Storage experience required

  • Proficiency in creating electrical single-line diagrams

  • Ability to complete point to point diagrams for storage and PV monitoring systems a plus

  • NABCEP PV Design or Installation Certification preferred

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Salesforce, Google Suite and Microsoft Office

  • Quality oriented with attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task and manage several project designs simultaneously

  • Professional and personable demeanor and willingness to interact with clients and members of other teams
