The Payments and Deposits Manager is a team leader responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of services including: funds transfers, ACH, check processing and fed fund settlement to community banks’ deposit accounts.  This position is also responsible for staying informed on new and emerging payment strategies and guiding the bank’s strategy accordingly.

Results will be accomplished through maximizing the effectiveness and productivity of staff and driving efficiency through streamlined processes and effective use of technology. Establishing a culture of excellent customer service and satisfaction is a critical function of this role.

Position responsibilities include:

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Payments and Deposits Department
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws and keep the department in audit-ready condition
• Ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency of the methods used to deliver services
• Conduct regularly scheduled coaching and performance reviews with department staff and identify development opportunities
• Assist with project management as it relates to the department
• Work closely with the I.T. Department in system development and enhancement of proprietary online banking systems
• In the absence of support staff, complete day-to-day operations including after-hours support

The best fit for this position will have 5+ years of both management and bank operations experience in the areas of: deposit accounts, ACH, funds transfer, fed funds and check processing.

Other qualifications include:

• Proficient knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC, NACHA Operating Rules and Privacy Rules
• Industry Accreditation such as, Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or National Check Professional (NCP) helpful
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Ability to prioritize and delegate
• Skills in project management
