Atlas Executive Consulting, LLC (Atlas), has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Writer role in Charleston, SC.  We are looking for an enthusiastic individual that is a motivated self-starter with superior listening, effective communication in writing, and organizational skills to support our customers support operations. Individual will be responsible for the day-to-day management support of cross-functional projects in support of the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) to provide timely leadership reporting support, award creation, documentation, and other deliverables to efficiently accomplish the mission of Defense Health Information Technology (DHIT) Division’s Command Support.

Responsibilities:

  • Write easy-to-understand technical reporting, slick sheets and awards.
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail.
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
  • Ability to write with a journalist voice in order to produce high quality award write-ups.
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
  • Drive collaboration and communication necessary to ensure deliverables success; to include weekly reports for senior leadership, updating documentation and award writing.
  • Develop and manage process improvement initiatives for reporting to align with long-term organizational strategy.
  • Create and maintain a historical information database repository.
  • Consult with team leadership to develop best practices for organizational processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA degree in English, Journalism, or Technical Writing.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in the assembling technical documentation, to include: writing/editing technical documentation, procedures and guidelines for C4ISR systems or equipment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven working experience in technical writing of government documentation.
  • Experience with customer relationship management and problem management to deliver quality service to application sponsors, stakeholders and users.
  • Experience operating in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to serve as an escalation point for customer concerns if/when they arise, and identify appropriate resolution to achieve client satisfaction in a timely manner.
  • DoD security clearance
