The Value Based Analyst will assist in the development and deployment of credible and valid methodologies to measure and quantify clinical performance; identify opportunities related to efficiency and quality; assist in creating tools including physician and organization level reporting tools to drive performance in these areas. Coordinates, analyzes, and manages data to help facilitate with value-based initiatives and other projects.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a quantitative focus (e.g. epidemiology, statistics, economics, behavioral economics, public health, Data Science, health services research)
  • Masters in Data Science preferred
  • Technical abilities with data and analytics tools, including MS office-excel, SAS or other software packages
  • Experience with Analytical and Visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI
  • Experience with Programming languages like SQL, R, Python
  • 2 years of Professional experience in an analytics field or other health care related experience presenting reports, data visualizations preferred
  • Experience with Nextgen systems preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot reporting problems including design issues and develop and implement solutions
  • Detailed-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to create, manage and enhance interdepartmental relationships
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work to balance competing deadlines in a professional manner
  • Ability to work individually and as a team to achieve goals
  • Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for all specialty behavioral health locations


  • Analytic abilities in statistical testing, regression analysis, etc. preferred
  • Machine Learning and Testing like Multivariate testing skills

  • Assist with projects requiring data extraction ensuring timely, relevant, accurate and consistent information use
  • Assists with value-based care redesign efforts, quality initiatives and AHC performance improvement infrastructure
  • Works alongside with ACMIO to help structure and use data to identify patterns and opportunities to improve the quality and value of care
  • This position will be an integral part of the value based and other organizational projects by providing support that includes but not limited to Project Management, Data Analysis, aggregation and presentations
  • Assist with analysis of external data definitions documentation and mapping process
  • Conducts data analysis, creating presentations, reports
  • Works on producing reporting and data visualizations in addition to supporting analytical and ad-hoc analysis
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills and can communicate across levels and is required to create, manage and enhance interdepartmental relationships across the organization

  • Validate data load processes and the quality of the data loaded into clinical data repositories
  • Support QI and other departments in projects needing data, reports, and care coordination.
  • Confer with team leads to determine protocol design, data element selection, appropriate statistical methods and delivery schedules
  • Generate data queries based on validation checks or errors and omissions identified during data entry, identifying inconsistencies and inefficiencies in processes
  • Act as a clinical data coordinator on multiple projects
  • Create and/or generate reports using all available tools to enable clinical teams to drive decision-making and improve efficiency in practice/physician level performance
  • Support value based initiatives; conduct analytics, and statistical testing as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to document data needs and metric definitions
  • Keep up to date with ongoing changes in data analytics capability
  • Work with Health plan data and build standardized data sets for AHC
  • Collaborate with all external entities on Value based analysis
  • Provides analysis of complex healthcare data
  • Understand and improve analytical tools to collect and understand data, validating models, and supporting the delivery of solutions
  • Assess Quality reported data, connect with and partner on improvement initiatives
  • Interoperate, analyze, and develop appropriate statistical models, manipulate complex databases, and track/evaluate patterns of care and outcomes
  • Contribute and monitor process improvements in data standards and efficiency
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be subject to health hazards (contagious diseases, blood borne pathogens, etc.) when working in the clinic area.
