Summary of Position

The Administrative Assistant for Ministry Support is responsible for fulfilling the vision of The Summit Church through directing the mission and functionality of the front office and providing administrative, operational and logistical support to the various ministries within the Ministry Support team.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Passionate about serving others administratively; you see small, behind the scenes tasks as important to the big picture mission; experience on a church or para-ministry staff is a plus.

  • Loves Jesus and His Church; is or will become a member of The Summit Church; a demonstrated track record of serving the church is a plus.

  • Professional and positive in demeanor, even when you dont feel like it; has a high level of patience dealing with people in all circumstances; experience with customer service is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Flexible and adaptable; you dont get flustered when things are chaotic or change on short notice.

  • Self initiative; can accomplish the tasks given and also figure out what needs to be done without being given direction.

  • Able to creatively solve problems.

  • Organized; you can keep track of details yourself and help our team be organized.

  • Knowledgeable of standard office equipment and software such as MS Office, Google Apps, copiers/scanners; a demonstrated ability of embracing technological change is a plus.

  • Able to accomplish everything for everyone and smile all at the same time.

  • Notary or willingness to become one



  • Manage the front office: train and supervise the reception team, ensure that all staff and guests are provided a great first impression, update current protocol and resources and communicate changes, create new protocol and resources as needed, communicate with staff about office closures.

  • Be the hub of general church knowledge; answer all types of general and random questions from everyone inside and outside the church.

  • Identify current operational systems that are not working well and initiate solutions.

  • Manage the office supplies, kitchen supplies, postage, and stationary budgets and oversee ordering and stock, including working with outside vendors.

  • Receive mail and packages, and organize and manage the flow of the package room. 

  • Assist the Ministry Support team with various tasks including submitting check requests (utility payments), ordering furniture and supplies, resourcing meetings, Nexonia reports (when able and not at the expense of core job responsibilities), coordinating the external rental process, and managing legal documentation.

  • Assist the Executive Pastor of Ministry Support and Executive Pastor of External Ministries with various tasks.

  • Project Management for Ministry Support department heads. 

  • Leave satisfied at 5:00 p.m. having done a lot of administrative tasks well that enable others to do frontline ministry.  There may be times you will need to work outside those hours, but not often.
