 What is the Austin Recovery Network? 

The mission of Austin Recovery Network (ARN) is to provide a network of compassionate, community-based, person-centered care to those impacted by substance use disorders, regardless of race, gender, age or station…because EVERYONE is worthy of recovery. 


The Austin Recovery Network is a central Texas nonprofit providing an affordable continuum of recovery services, often serving as a refuge of last resort.  We serve individuals from all walks of life with an aim to support, coach and counsel them as they battle the disease of addiction. Our organization is the result of a merger between Austin Recovery, University High School and Keystone APG in 2020 and includes the following programs: 


  • Family House: An inpatient treatment program for pregnant women & women with young children;
  • Intensive Outpatient (IOP): Group and individual recovery programming for men and women, both online and in person​;
  • CCC/Alumni: Group and individual coaching services to ARN alumni, supporting long-term recovery care;
  • Keystone APG: In person and digital adolescent and family peer recovery support;  and
  • University High School: A UT Charter High School focusing on recovery and teens in sobriety. 


Our Opportunity:


We are looking for a Human Resources Manager who will partner with senior management to infuse Austin Recovery Network with purpose, ensuring our mission and values are reflected in all our HR policies and practices and effectively communicated throughout the organization. We will look to you to lead ARN’s Human Resources department to best support our mission and our clients’ recovery. This role reports to the COO and will effectively use cross-functional teams to design and implement HR initiatives as needed. 

You will have the opportunity to broaden your HR skill set and lead ARN’s people efforts to align the department and employees with our stated values. You will be using your skillset toward moving this amazing organization forward in its ability to better support the recovery effort!


As an HR Manager you will…


  • Enhance the organization by developing human resources policies, programs, and practices in support of our mission and culture and reflecting HR best practices.
  • Lead the recruiting process including job postings, candidate screening, interviewer coaching, reference checks and job offer letters.
  • Design and conduct an onboarding process for employees including benefits enrollment, grant compliance, I-9 forms, drug screens, and orientation and training programs.
  • Process biweekly payroll and create reports from our payroll/HRIS system as needed.
  • Resolve workplace issues between employees and employers.
  • Manage employee benefit programs including updating to reflect current trends, evaluating vendor bids and communicating benefit plan details to employees.
  • Ensure legal compliance in all areas of HR management by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state requirements.
  • Work with management to improve our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts to ensure our core beliefs are reflected in all aspects of the workplace.



We’d like to see…


  • Proficiency in MS Office programs, payroll systems and HRIS Systems;
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
  • Commitment to internal and external customer service;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task with accuracy and reliability; and
  • Ability to manage highly confidential information and documents.


You’ll also have…


  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Five years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles;
  • Direct experience working with payroll, benefits and HRIS software, proficiency with Paycom preferred;
  • Recruiting experience from sourcing candidates to generating offers; and
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
