Summary of Position

The Kids Director will fulfill the mission of the Summit Church through leading the Kids Ministry at the campus level. This will happen by partnering with families to raise the next generation for Christ.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A member of The Summit Church, or willing and able to become a member.

  • A commitment to servant leadership and dependence on God (Mk. 10:45; Col. 3:23-24, Jn. 15:5-8). 

  • Sees the home as the first ministry. 

  • Has a passion and gifting to spiritually lead our families and kids in the mission to be a movement of disciples that make disciples. 

  • Understands the value of trust, grace and truth within a team context. 

  • Is a self starter (but at the same time operates easily in a team context). 

  • Leads by being organized, prepared and administratively proficient. 

  • Has a teachable spirit and eagerness to learn. 

  • Strong People Skills: able to lead, cast vision, call to action, and delegate with discernment.

  • Exceptional administrative, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Builds strong leadership and volunteer teams.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Overall

    • Participate in weekly meetings and contribute to building a healthy team (locally at CHC and centrally).

    • Actively engage in discipleship and care of both members and attendees.

    • Leads in showing how Kids ministry fits into the holistic disciple-making mission. 

    • Collaborate with the Central/Campus KIDS Team regarding goals and objectives.

  • Weekend Summit Kids Experience

    • The Overall leadership, execution, and implementation of the weekend in Kids Ministry.

    • Recruiting, training, communicating and caring for volunteers/leaders 

    • Overseeing the implementation of the curriculum provided by the Summit Kids ministry.

    • Responsible for the atmosphere of the Summit Kids area at CHC.

    • Handles setup and teardown by building a volunteer team and executing.  

    • Responsible for the safety of all children by means of completing background checks, verifying character references.

  • Building relationships with families 

    • Be a part of helping new families find a home at Summit through building relationships and connection them to the life of the church body. 

    • Lead in communicating and executing Milestone Events (Parent Commissioning, Gospel & Baptism Class, Family Mission Trips).

    • Equip & resource your parents to be the primary disciplers of their kids.

  • Other responsibilities 

    • Serve at large events for Summit Kids.

    • Oversees, leads and executes Awana (in partnership DDC).
