Summary of Position

The Technical Director is responsible for technical system support of AVL systems at The Summit Church. Working alongside the Production Pastor, this position will lead in installation, troubleshooting and upgrading of AVL systems. Also contributes to the leadership of the central production ministry.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Personal integrity and evidence of ongoing spiritual growth, as required of all church employees (church attendance, small group membership, tithing, etc.)

  • Experience in installation and design of sound, light and video systems

  • High level of lighting system knowledge, especially the grandMA3 platform

  • Proficiency in all AVL equipment and software involved in producing weekly worship gatherings

  • Knowledgeable in the latest trends in production with a high degree of creativity and innovation

  • A member of The Summit Church or willing and able to become a member



  • Central production ministry support

    • A part of the team that runs all major church-wide events

    • Provide on-site technical leadership at Summit campuses on the weekends

  • System installation

    • Consultation with central production team on design of production systems at campuses

    • Pricing, bidding, ordering and tracking of systems

    • Working with Production Pastor on installation and training for systems

  • System maintenance

    • Upkeep, maintenance and troubleshooting of AVL systems

    • Leading in process for systematic upgrades of existing systems

  • Lighting design and system maintenance

    • Working with campus leads and directors on ways to standardize and simplify lighting systems

    • Primary lighting designer for large events
