Hours: 32 – 40 hours; 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Overview:

Austin Recovery Network is a nonprofit addiction treatment and support system of care. Services include adolescent peer-to-peer support, a recovery-focused high school, adult outpatient treatment services, 90-day intensive inpatient treatment program for pregnant women and women with small children, licensed daycare, and adult recovery support services. The disease of addiction has a relapse prevention and maintenance program akin to those designed for diabetes, hyper-tension, and heart disease, but it has historically been treated like a one-time illness. We want to change that. Austin Recovery, University High School and Keystone Alternative Peer Group are re-imagining what a continuum of care needs to look like to be fully person-centered and affordable - for the duration of each person's life.

The client engagement specialist team has the most front-facing members of the organization. They are tasked with keeping clients engaged with programming and activities, while ensuring client safety and completing day-to-day essential documentation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitors the environment for safety and is aware of emergency procedures.
• Observes and charts client behavior and participation.
• Works to create a therapeutic environment on shift.
• Facilitates recreational activities for clients.
• Oversees medication needs and issues as well as observation of client self-administered medication.
• Conducts UA drug screen collection and breathalyzes when directed following appropriate organizational procedures.
• Safely transports clients to and from medical and other appointments as needed.
• Coordinates completion of Incident Reports and Client Surveys and data assimilation of same in support of the Quality Management team.
• Follows agency, state and federal regulations and requirements.
• Attends monthly Client Engagement Specialist meetings.
• Attends community meetings of client programs weekly.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work evenings 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. in our facility in Buda
• Knowledge of basic computer skills critical to job duties related to this position.
• Ability to model and effectively communicate rules and expectations to clients.
• A valid Texas Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
• Works under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
• Must be Red Cross CPR/First Aid certified upon hire or within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of addiction, recovery, and the 12-step process (preferred)

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year experience in a direct care practice setting

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Supervised By:

• Family House Program Manager

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.
• Must be able to drive a van
