The Department of Psychology at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Developmental Psychology to begin August 2021. Preference will be given to applicants with a specialization in aging, although those with other specializations are encouraged to apply. Standard course load in the department is 18 hours (3 courses each fall and spring). Courses to be taught include Developmental Psychology (lifespan) and some of the following: Intro. to Psychology, Research Methods, Statistics, as well as other courses related to the candidate’s specialty area. Other duties include advising students and participating in departmental and college service.
A Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology is required. Exceptional ABD candidates with a documented plan of completion date prior to 8/1/2021 will be considered. The successful candidate will provide evidence of excellence in teaching and demonstrate the potential for research productivity, particularly involving student research collaborators.
The Department of Psychology is located in the College of Arts and Sciences and consists of 8 tenured/tenure-track faculty members representing most major areas of psychology. The Department is the second largest in the college, graduating approximately 50 students each year.
