Position Summary

This position is responsible for the development, integration and implementation of system applications within the Mission. The business technology analyst will report to the Senior Director of IT & Data Analytics but will support all departments in determining its systemic needs, recommending processes, implementing solutions, and providing training to end users.


The Business Technology Analyst will work on a cross-functional team to understand, identify, and document business systems and technology needs. Evaluate alternatives and options, develop operational manual, solutions and proposals. Conduct training and assistance to ensure the success of systems and data integrity around the Mission.



Essential Job Duties

  1. Meet and coordinate with stakeholders to establish project scope, system goals, and business requirements
  2. Translate technical specifications into clear non-technical requirements
  3. Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize software requirement specifications, data mapping, diagrams or flowcharts for vendor developers, IT and Data Analytics teams to follow
  4. Manage the set-up and configuration of application and business systems
  5. Perform upgrades of donor/volunteer/client/finance and other management systems
  6. Communicate and help IT troubleshoot business applications, including application servers and databases
  7. Define and coordinate the execution of software testing, and quality assurance process
  8. Provide documentation of all processes and training
  9. Provide business software training to end users
  10. Develop maintenance procedures, monitor systems health, and troubleshoot reported errors
  11. Develop strategic plans to increase users involvement and maximize system use
  12. Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance
  13. Attend and participate in all Mission meetings and trainings, as required
  14. Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor




Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

BA/BS Degree in Information System, Business Administration or related field with strong knowledge of databases and technology is required.



Experience installing, configuring, documenting, testing, training and implementing applications or systems.

Experience in software/system integration, SQL databases and technology services, including project management.

Experience in Virtuous/Salesforce CRM, other non-profit management system and accounting system.
