Are you looking for a meaningful experience working with children? 

Keshet is seeking paraprofessionals to work part-time with preschool students in a community-based early childhood program. The paraeducator will assist preschoolers with a range of needs including early learning skills, social facilitation, emotional regulation, and communication skills.  The paraeducator will be part of the classroom community, assisting teachers with broader program needs as applicable.

  • In addition to providing classroom support, candidates must be physically able to support students with high levels of energy and potential behavior challenges
  • Must be willing to assist students with personal care

  • Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Part time)

ABOUT KESHET: Keshet is a one-of-a-kind organization that brings classroom experiences, camps, sports, social and vocational activities, and residential opportunities to 600 people with disabilities and special needs each year.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: At Keshet’s therapeutic day schools, we foster caring communities where students ages 3 to 22 learn and grow. Educators and therapists work hand-in-hand to provide highly individualized instruction and therapies to meet the unique needs of each student. From preschool through high school transition, Keshet’s schools prepare students for a life of independence.

  • Must be at least 19 years old
  • Hold a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Hold or be eligible to apply for an Illinois State Board of Education Paraprofessional license
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
  • Must maintain a current certification in CPR and Safety Care, provided through Keshet
