Description

POSITION: Home Living Assistant

SALARY: $13.69-16.14 per hour

REPORTS TO: Dorm Manager

LOCATION:  Pascal Sherman Indian School Omak, WA 

Basic Functions: The Home Living assistant is responsible for providing a safe and healthy living  environment for residential students, assist with academic studies and instruction of basic life skills.  The home living assistant  will be responsible for supervising students from the ages of 5-17 years of age. This position will require healthy and functional home style role modeling, some meal preparation, housekeeping duties, chaperoning, and some recreational activities with children.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training: 

  • Typically requires an Associates Degree and have a minimum of 32 semesters credits or 18 quarter credits or have successfully passed PAXIS test.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to maintain professionalism and role model demeanor at all times. 
  • Valid Washington Drivers License. 
  • Must have or be able to obtain first Aide/CPR car in 30 days of employment.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Food Handlers card in 10 days of employment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Requires the ability to maintain professionalism and role model demeanor at all times.
  • Requires the ability to to maintain strict confidentiality and sign the Pascal Sherman Indian School Confidentiality Oath form. 
  • Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and subordinates. 
  • Requires the ability to maintain a healthy and functional home style role modeling.
  • Requires the ability to prepare some meals, provide housekeeping duties, assist in chaperoning, and attend recreational activities with children.

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

 

TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.

 

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.  In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances.  If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
